Decide the silhouette before the detail
What shape are you from across a room? Get that right and the rest is decoration. Get it wrong and no amount of detail rescues it.
Try this
- Pick something with one strong feature and build everything around it.
- Try it on in a mirror in the dark. Most costumes are seen in the dark.
